Something Has Happened Collaboration Guidelines

NOTICE: Currently there are no available ideas. I do have a waiting list in case some more ideas become available in the future, so if you would like to be added to that list, you can neomail me (and please provide an art sample). But you will have to be patient. Thank you.

"Something Has Happened" are a set of comics based around Neopian random events that I (Tdyans) am trying to put together. However, since I'm not much of an artist, I decided to collaborate and have someone who is draw my ideas for me. Since I got offers from a few different people and wanted to collaborate with all of them, I decided that it would be fun to work with many different artists instead of just one. Several "Something Has Happened" comics have now appeared in the NT, starting with Issue 70, and I am hoping that more will be published in the future, but of course, I need more artists to work with. So, here are the guidelines if you would like to help me out:

* I write, you draw. My plan with these comics is that I will write the scripts for them and you will draw them. Of course, you will have some artistic license and flexibility when it comes to making my ideas into realities, and you can also suggest ideas to me, but if I have no part in the writing at all, I can't really put my names on the comics any more, and I don't want that. ;)

* You do not have to be an established NT comic artist. Although I am having a ball working with some of the better-known names, if you're fairly new to the NT or haven't been published at all, I'm still very much open to working with you. It would be nice if you can show me a sample of your artwork beforehand, but don't worry-- I am looking forward to working with people of varying styles.

* It's up to you who gets the main by-line (whose name appears on the comics page under the title of the comic.) Both of our names will appear on the page that actually displays the comic and we will both get trophies, so if you want to have the main by-line, that's fine with me. If you have another comic that you want to submit for the same week and you therefore want me to have the main by-line on this one, that's fine also. It seems as if whoever sends the comic in is the one who gets it. So, if you want it and you send the comic in, be sure to send it to neopiantimes@neopets.com and include: "Title: Something Has Happened; Drawn by: yournamehere; Written by: Tdyans." (And a note thanking the editor for his consideration is always nice also.)

* Some more guidelines for submitting comics: "Try to keep your comics around 35-40k in file size and under 470 pixels in width, and send them in a .gif or .jpg format (.bmp okay). If that doesn't work, upload them to your pet's page and send in the link."

* So, if you made it through those guidelines and you are interested in working with me on a Something Has Happened comic, please neomail me about it and I will give you a list of the script ideas that I currently have for you to choose from.

* Yes, just a few ending guidelines: When you choose the idea you want to draw, please let me know ASAP (and before you begin drawing) so I can make sure no one else draws it. And please let me know when you've finished before you send the comic in so that I don't have two different people sending in Something Has Happened comics in the same week. And make sure to let me see your finished comic before you turn it in. Thanks!
